A short suggestion if it has not already been said. Thinking about the oxygen update, I liked how the doors in dead space had LCD's above them that gave important info like where it went or if there was a vacuum on the other side.

I think the vanilla doors should have a small rectangular light at the crest of the door frame that changes color if the opposite side is pressurized or not. (If you are in a vacuum and the adjacent room is pressurized, you will see a green light, and a second player on the other side will see a yellow light).

Green means the room on the other side is pressurized.
Yellow means it's a vacuum.
Red means the door is broken.

Where it would go and roughly its' size:

what about the door's "blades"? their edges could be illuminated.

You mean the bit that clips into a wall? Having the light there wouldn't do any good because you cannot see it.

I am a huge fan of this idea, this needs to be added into Space Engineers!

A small addition: I'd like to be able to switch off the ability to open and close the doors via its console. My airlocks are fully automatic.

An LCD panel above the door?  Maybe.  But I would settle for stenciled letters. (You will still set it at the door options in the control panel.) Either way, the ability to label a door is a growing necessity.

The ability to tell if the other side is pressurized is also an important feature that is badly needed.

Automatic doors are also a sifi staple.  Perhaps a door with sensor combination?

Or the ability to close if pressure is lost!  That way I wouldn’t have to keep opening and closing the many partition doors I have on my ship.

I would also make the door blades and active field.  So to open or close the door you press action on the door blades themselves, rather than on the tiny target that is the door control panel.

Door locks would also be nice.

It splits open, and if it's closed they touch.
My idea is to make it possible to guess whats on the other side when the door is closed, when it's open you see it anyway.

You meant the actual door panels. Why would the light go there? Unless you meant something like this?

am i the only one thinking about using the white line around the door-part to show the pressure on the other side?
(i somewhat doubt that i am, but still, i'm the first one to write it down that clear)

a text-panel above the door to name the room you're entering / looking at would also be nice (different for both sides ofc)

Still waiting for a vanilla offset door, while we're at it... but yes, this would be an interesting addition.

One checkbox I'd like to see too is a "don't open unless pressurized" option.

Basically, on the door if you implement a pressure checker on each end, a checkbox would let you keep the door sealed (even if you press T or k), unless the door senses both sides pressurized. Would cut down on coding and whatnot by heaps if the doors had that integrated capability.

Also helps optimize the game [smile]

Good idea, but I'd change one thing: the lights should show matched pressurization, not single-sided. Green for fully pressurized, yellow for unmatched pressure, red for depressurized.

No, that does not match the aesthetic of the oxygen block which uses yellow for depressurized. Plus being able to tell weather or not there is air on the other side of the door was the whole point of this suggestion.
