ACHTUNG! BOLD LETTERS! YOU CANNOT MISS THIS! If you cannot enjoy a civilized discussion and good suggestions for this topic, please say so in the comment APPROPRIATELY UND NICELY! I do have feelings, and if it's bothering you so much that I posed that much stupidity for posting the one millionth topic on planetary discussion, please press backspace and proceed to reverse slowly out of this page UND apply some HOTnICY to applicable area!

Let's admit it, 90% of the die hard Space Engineer fans loves the idea of planetoids with atmosphere and trees and vaters and such. But vhat good is a beautiful, lush and massive planet to land on vithout some interesting species grazing around and about? Vhat good is a large planet to land my spaceship on vithout target practices for my fighters?
Now I'm not rushing the devs to struggle to add these immediately.
Judging from their AI progress and modeling in Medieval Engineer I'm guessing it's quite a vhile before ve get any kind of understandable vildlife on these planets.
I'm also a fan of ultra realistic approach to game developing, and vhile I'm sure Keen has a few tricks up their sleeves un how to optimize ze game, I shink zhat adding independent moving AI vill be fery taxing on current state computerz.
It's just a cool idea to add some difersity in the game, just like the upcoming and fery anticipated No Man's Sky, it's easy to see how excited gamers are to get their hands un some unrestricted freedum, und to Space Engineers, I shink zhat it vill dramatically increase the game's popularity and vorth on the steam community.
So, vhat do you think? Is adding some animals and trees and AI vill help vith the planetary part of the game or not? Plz, leave your thoughts below und let's make our voices heard!
A demonstrating fideo taken straight from un clip of the No Man's Sky gameplay:

EDIT: Have you seen the new tech demo for DirectX 12? I think the devs can seriously ultilize that efficientcy in delivering us a smooth and hiccup-less experience, if they're able to optimize the game on DirectX 12, und seeing how they're having plans for DirectX 11, going straight for the more advance one might be a better option. Also the new engine is very efficient at draw calling, allowing for more objects to appear in a scene at once, so that might be nice for bigger, more massive ships and cities upon planets.

I'm good with some wildlife of various types. Shouldn't be on all of them but having a reasonable chance would be fine with me. Also, why did you transcribe your accent?

Crystalline Entity of star trek

or some octupus in space or something?^^

also would be cool if you could engage relationships with other fractions(npc)
help them...slaughter them...or just do nothing.

please use proper English, the fake German is annoying me.
also I'm pretty sure 66% of the people around here don't think planets are essential and 83% of statistics are made op on the spot [tongue]
but really, what kind of gameplay benefit would this give to counter the humongous costs.

i also can speak real german[wink] deal with it or learn my language[tongue]

done fact is that 100% for sure want something more in that game. and a part of those 100% could be that stuff maybe even 34%(perfectly calculated with my calculator and the formula 17x2)   .
and which costs? it makes space more space o.O you prefer some empty nothing to play around?

sure:

I really don't want to join the "leave it to the modders" bandwagon, but in this case, Animals I think are something to leave to the modders.
I like the idea of plants, but animals are not something you bring into space. Biodomes conatinging pants are great, but animals are not something I want to see in SE.
Otherwise this game becomes an enhanced version of Minecraft's Moonquest mod.

I mean, if you are to leave animals to modders, at least unhook the polygon restriction, model restriction ect, and let them go wild. The best mod will probably be selected by the community and the garbage will be swept aside (like your mom, OOOOOOOHHHHHH jk).
However I think the devs should at least include some version of wildlife just so that modders have a guildline or rail to build on.
